$26.5M Saladino Villa acquired by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Comedian and talk show celebrity Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi, wife, have recently purchased this Wallace Frost-designed historic mansion dubbed Saladino Villa in Montecito, Santa Barbara County, California. It is the latest addition to the couple’s real estate portfolio including homes in Hidden Valley and Beverly Hills.

Saladino Villa (4)

Built in the late 1920s, this magnificent gated mansion, which is a restored Tuscany villa, is set on 13 acres of prime land, this two-story luxury abode features 10,522 square feet of living space encompassing 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, an 800-square-foot living room. Among the special amenities are included 18th-century Spanish entry gates, a quarter-mile driveway, expansive motor court boasting antique Venetian statuary, a juggernaut guest suite, 9 fireplaces, 18th century Italian roof tiles, an atrium, swimming pool with ocean view, sun-splashed lawn with a Roman column dating back to 200 B.C., to name just a few.

The stunner is known to have one of the most impressive ocean views in the neighborhood and mature gardens including olive and eucalyptus trees. Rumor has it that the pair also bought an adjacent 3.8-acre plot for privacy reasons. Seven years ago they bought a property in the area for $15.75 million which they flipped for around $20 million to the executive chairman of Google, multi-billionaire Eric Schmidt. How much more would they make with this new acquisition, we wonder?
