Boat captain rescues cat thrown off Florida bridge

Jordan Smith – a boat captain from Florida, is hailed as a hero after his kind gesture helped a poor creature to get a second chance to live. Captain Smith was at the board of his fishing boat in Fort Walton Beach, Florida when spotted something falling off the Marler Bridge.

“I just saw something out of the corner of my eye,” the man told Huffington Post. “I saw some movement at probably 15 feet off the water. Then I heard splat! Splat! I thought someone threw some trash down.”

When the captain had seen the poor little thing swimming, he realized it’s a tiny animal in desperate need of help, so he was there to provide it. When he got closer he realized it was a kitten. “I saw this little head swimming around ,” Smith said. “She was swimming toward me, like, ‘Oh, human, save me!”

After a few moments, the fisherman has managed to grab the cat into his net and save its life. “When I took it out of the net, it grabbed a hold of my arm,” the heroic captain said. “She latched ahold of me and didn’t want to let go. I held the cat all the way into the HarborWalk. She was just staring at me the whole time. It was pretty intense.”

Smith decided to name the rescue cat Miracle and he said he intends to adopt her if no owner would come to claim her. The little cat was taken at the vet clinic as soon as the board reach the shore. As about the person who thrown the cat off the bridge remained unidentified.
