A 12-year-old boy from Sydney stole the credit card of his parents and flew alone to Bali. The boy whose identity wasn’t revealed for his own protection, decided to go to Bali after a fight with his parents. He also deceived his grandma who gave him his passport.

Using the internet, the boy discovered an airline what allows children with the age over 12 to travel unaccompanied. So he booked a flight and a four night hotel room in Bali. After that he took the train to Sydney where he boarded to Indonesia with a stopover in Perth.

At Perth airport, the airline staff asked him for his passport. “They just asked for my student ID and passport to prove that I’m over 12 and that I’m in secondary school. It was great because I wanted to go on an adventure,” the boy, known under the pseudonym Drew declared.

After he landed in Bali, the boy checked in at the  All Seasons Hotel, where he booked a room days before. Asked why he’s alone, the told the hotel staff that he’s with her elder sister, but she’ll arrive later.

Back in Australia, Drew’s parents were in shock after the school where he supposed to be, reported his absence. When find out he in Bali, her mother took the first plane and brought him back home. “Shocked, disgusted, there’s no emotion to feel what we felt when we found he left overseas,” she said.
