Brave man runs into burning home to save his beloved dog

Our beloved furry friends are as important to us as any other member of the family. So when it comes to them, we’re capable to do impossible things, to protect them. It’s also the case of this brave man in California who was ready for the ultimate sacrifice to save the family’s dog. Jose Guzman, a father of three from Pala, San Diego is hailed a hero all over the internet, after his incredible gesture.

The Guzman family was in the neigborhood when they found out their house in on fire. It’s when Jose realized their dog, a two years old pit bull named Gabbana was still into the house. “I knew something could’ve happened to me or both of us, but it didn’t go through my mind at the time,” Jose told PEOPLE. “That dog is part of my family. She’s been with us through downs and ups and I couldn’t leave her there. I would do it again if I had to; I would do it for anybody in my family.”

Without hesitation, the brave man run directly into the flames to save the helpless dog. The dramatic rescue was captured on a cellphone camera by a witness. The heroic scene went viral, ever since. “I knew my dog was here, I knew she was here. I ran through here tried to stay in the middle this was going, this was on fire, I couldn’t see anything,” the man told ABC10 News. “Gabbana was hiding behind the toilet and it took me a matter of seconds to get her out of the house.”

Luckily, Jose and his dog managed to get out from the burning house only with some minor injuries. “All I wanted was to get my dog, I came in here, I didn’t hesitate, I just, I had to get her, she’s part of the family,” the man recalls.
