Former U.S. president’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, have just purchased an impressive apartment in The Whitman five-story condo building in Manhattan, which was originally built in 1924 but is now still being renovated. It was bought by Mitchell Holdings in 2011 for just $13 million and since then he decided upon floor-through condos.
Besides the four bedrooms and 6.5 baths, the 5,000 square-foot crib features a family room, home office and a media room/den. The condo is long and narrow with southern-facing living room overlooking the park. The master bedroom is at the opposite end, facing 27th Street. It also boasts a kitchen by Arclinea, wide plank rift oak flooring and a different sort of top-of-the-line stone in every bathroom (the master bathroom is made of Italian marble).
The luxury brick and limestone mansion, dubbed The Whitman, has three full-floor apartments and a 6,540-square-foot duplex penthouse. Its high-end amenities include a Residents only Room, a health club, private storage space, full-time doorman and key-locked elevator with private elevator landings and a refrigerated package room.
Bill and Hillary Clinton made a tour of the plush apartment and even posed, together with Chelsea, for the workers in the building. Their daughter and her husband found the apartment themselves as they were walking in the neighborhood.
