Touching moment disabled man climbs out of wheelchair to save drowning kitten

A heart-warming footage of a disabled man climbs out of wheelchair to save a helpless kitten, is making waves on social media.

It was a normal Saturday afternoon for Abu Fathiyyaturahma Menk Abdun Mujtahid. The 36 years old man from Sabah, Malaysia, was heading to the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex, where he trains, when he spotted a tiny creature stuck in a drain. Initially he doesn’t realized what it might be, but on a second check he was sure there’s a kitten fighting for its life. It’s when Abu knew he needs to do something.

Despite ‘not having the use of his legs,’ the brave man just climbed out of his wheelchair and he headed right onto the drain and he took out the poor little creature. The entire scene was filmed by Abu’s friend, who’s also disabled, the MNN News reports

“We saw the kitten stuck there and knew we could not leave it. I decided to get the kitten myself because it would be more dangerous for my friend who uses prosthetic legs,” Abu told to local media. “The banks of the drain were steep parts and the was is not level, so it was difficult to negotiate. But I’m glad we could help the cat.”

Abu declared himself extremely proud and happy he could help the kitten. And in the end he even joked about the that, saying: “I hope the kitten has learned his lesson and stays away from danger.”
