Elephant cries after being rescued following 50 years of suffering

This Earth was created for all beings, not just human being. Therefore, we should treat all creatures with respect. In fact most of those so called(by humans, of course) ‘wild beasts’ are nothing but gentle giants who have feelings and emotions just as we do.

Unfortunately, there are countless animals that are receiving only pain, instead of love, from human being. And among all those heartbreaking stories, there’s one above all. This innocent, majestic, kindhearted elephant spent five decades in chains with the purpose of entertaining the passing tourists.

While for many of us 50 years means a lifetime, Raju never lost his hope that in one day he will get the chance to roam freely. And thanks to Wildlife SOS, an animal rights group, the dream came true for the tormented animal. And the moment he was set free was something touching above imagination as Raju literally started to cry when volunteers broke off the chains he’s been captive in for almost his whole life.

“Raju was in chains 24 hours a day. The team were astounded to see tears roll down his face during the rescue,” Pooja Binepal, a spokesman for Wildlife SOS, said, per the Mirror. “It was incredibly emotional. We knew in our hearts he realized he was being freed. Elephants are majestic and highly intelligent animals. We can only imagine what torture the past half a century has been for him.”

Thankfully, Raju’s rehabilitation went incredible well and a year after he has been rescued, he looks completely transformed. There, at Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura, the kindhearted creature learned what a peaceful life actually means. But more than that, he learned to love again and to trust people.
