The celeb comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia Rossi have just purchased a most luxurious residence set on 2.3 prime acres in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, dubbed as The Brody House. The couple paid a staggering $39.888 million for this spectacular 13,511-square-foot mansion designed by noted architect A. Quincy Jones and completed in 1951.
The mid-century abode has been extensively remodeled, highlights counting the smooth walled interiors, wood and black and white marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows throughout providing landscape views and lushly landscaped grounds, a peaceful spot being the inner courtyard. The glass-walled includes 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. The amazing den-like living room features polished espresso-stained floor, incredible fireplace and atmosphere lighting. The marvelous open-air staircase leads to the rooms upstairs and the foyer boasts a built-in planter. The master bedroom is an apartment on its own and features an irregular shape, glass walls, plush carpets and fireplace. Next to it is a master bath with a long tub encased in black marble and his-and-her vanities. Among other living areas is a sloping-ceiling den with white brick fireplace.
The outdoor space features a walled-in courtyard/patio with fireplace and sheltering tree, green lawns lined by exotic trees, green ferns and shrubs. There is an Olympic-sized swimming pool, spa and tennis court. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is one of its A-list neighbors.
