‘Fire Station Bar and Grill’ designed to honor our first responders

A beautiful restaurant was opened in Maumee, Ohio. What makes it special? It is decorated to honour the men and women who help us every day as first responders. “Fire Station Bar and Grill” opened on Monday when a festive ribbon was cut. The sports bar is decorated with firefighter and paramedics gear and the tables have painted murals of some local heroes.

The owner, Jamie Wietrzykowski, said bar will make quarterly donations to different charities chosen by local fire departments.

“We’re gonna nominate one fire department quarterly and, whatever their charity is, the proceeds—when the people come in from the local community to sponsor and support that fire department, 10 percent of the proceeds from those tickets will go to their local charity no matter what it is,” Wietrzykowski said.

Outside the restaurant, visitors can see a custom-made American flag with a half-red, half-blue stripe in place of one of its white stripes.
