Friendly stray dog walks into police station – gets a job

There have always been great partnerships between police officers and dogs. Of course, it requires a lot of skills and a proper training for puppy to be able to fight against the outlaws. However, this stray puppy decided to try a different approach and it apparently worked.

When Gorgi, a stray puppy, strolled into a police station in the city Bayamón, Puerto Rico, he was in a very bad shape. So the officers gave him some food and played with him as the furry visitor looked extremely friendly. “He was in poor condition. He approached frightened and was looking for affection and protection,” Sgt. Tony Montesinos told The Dodo. “We gave him food and water that evening and after eating he stayed with us a while and left.”

But the next day, Sgt.Montesinos and his comrades were pretty surprised to see Gorgi came back. When they’ve seen how friendly and spirited the dog is, the officers decided to offer him a forever home, inside the police station. Initially they took him to a vet, then gave him a well deserved bath. And of course a little vest and a badge could not have been missing.

Thanks to the officers’ kindness, Gorgi not only find a family, but also a job. Even it’s just an honorary position, he got hired as a surveillance dog. More than, the dog isn’t the only one that has something to gain from it, but the officers as well. They now have a lovely friend and a trusted companion in Gorgi. “He reduces tensions,” says Montesinos. “Everyone loves him. He will have everything he needs for as long as he lives.”
