Goose kept pecking cop, until he decided to follow her, she lead him to her trapped baby

Gooses may not be the most intelligent creatures on Earth, but when it comes to protecting their babies, they’re able to do the impossible. And the way this mother goose managed to help its trapped gosling is incredible. It was quite an experience for officer James Givens, at Cincinnati Police Department, when a goose approached him. The officer was in his patron car, in a parking lot, when suddenly a noisy goose started to peck outside the car.

“This goose came up and started pecking on the side of the car,” Givens told The Dodo. “I threw some food out for her, but she didn’t take it. She just kept pecking and quacking. Then she walked away [and] came over again and pecked some more.”

It is when the cop and his colleague, officer Cecilia Charron realized something’s wrong and the bird actually asks for help. So they decided to investigate. It turned up they were right as one of their goslings got trapped. “She led me about 100 yards away to this grassy area near a creek. That’s when I saw one of her babies all tangled up in some string from a balloon. His little feet were kicking. She led me straight to him,” officer Givens said.

Officer Charron immediately rushed to help the poor little baby. As soon as released, the little one run to reunite with its mom. “The mother goose just watched, like she knew,” officer Givens told the Dodo. “I hope it might inspire more compassion in other people.”
