Howard Stern drops $52M on Palm Beach Compound

“King of all media,” as he calls himself, Howard Stern seems to be upsizing his property portfolio to Palm Beach through allegedly buying an oceanfront compound for a staggering 52 million. Stern, who is currently one of the judges on NBC’s talent show America’s Got Talent, appears to be the protagonist of the most expensive sale (though not officially on the market) in the town of Palm Beach in 2013.

The luxury home at 601 N.Country Road sits on 3.25 acres in a tony enclave and was until recently owned by Martin Trust, the founder of the clothes company MAST Industries Inc. as well as founder and president of New Hampshire-based textile and clothes company Brandot International Ltd. He and his wife purchased the property in 1986 and built the two-story main house in 1992 with 11.5 bathrooms, unfortunately the number of bedrooms not being mentioned in the agent’s listing.

The two-building property features a total of 39.094 square feet of both indoor and outdoor living space including a nearly 1,200 guest house, an 11,000-square-foot patio, fountain, spa, swimming pool gazebo and elevator. The mansion is protected from the curious eyes by a gated entrance, interior walled and extensively landscaped formal gardens. The main house sprawls over almost 19,000 square feet of air-conditioned space while the smaller building has, according to records, 1,196 square feet under air. Unfortunately there are no interior pictures of this mega-compound. The 59-year-old star also owns a mansion in the Hamptons and a luxury apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
