World famous iconic home, Elrod House came to fame when it was used as a location in the Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever. The upscale home is perched at the tip of the most sought-after star-studded guard-gated Palm Springs enclave, Southridge, home to Steve McQueen, Ali McGraw, Stephanie Powers, William Holden – to name just a few. The area has also been the venue of famous events attended by U.S. Presidents, a great many celebrities and affluent people.
The “timeless” building was designed by J.E.Lautner, famous architect whose work in California is a mixture of space-age features with progressive engineering. Set on 6,5 acres and measuring almost 9,000 square foot, it took over seven years to built (it was completed in 2005) and 700-plus tons of hand cut Idaho quartz stone. The luxury Elrod House features five bedrooms and six bathrooms, a 60’-wide circular living surmounted by a conical dome, retractable glass curtain walls opening to panoramic mountain and valley views. Throughout the house is incorporated the very rock of the ridge. The master suite and the main house guest suite are unique.
