One of the worst things that could happen to a dog owner is to have their precious pooch go missing. That’s exactly what happened to the owners of a Pit Bull mixed breed named Lindsy. She was found as a stray and taken to the Babylon Animal Shelter in New York
As luck would have it, a child phoned the shelter several weeks later looking for the dog. In an interview with The Dodo, animal control officer, Kristin Siarkowicz, said, “The child said she would have to ask her father if they could get her.”
Unfortunately, time passed, no one came to the shelter, and poor Lindsy sat waiting for her family to come get her. Since the dog had a wonderful personality, shelter workers figured she’d get another home very soon.
It was not meant to be, and Lindsy has been a shelter resident for over two long years. Since she is now eight years old, shelter workers think this might be part of the problem.
