While watching the news or navigating on social media lately, hasn’t been too morale-boosting, here’s a reminder that animal videos are always heartwarming. Especially when it shows the way a dog owner gently wakes up his blind and deaf pup!
Given her special condition, Plum – and adorable miniature Australian Shepherd – was seen as a burden by her previous owner and unfortunately, the cute puppy eventually ended up in a shelter. Even more, after a failed adoption attempt, the blind and deaf born puppy was given no chance as it didn’t seemed to be anyone willing to help her.
However, after a time things turned for the better as Plum met the man who was about to change her life, forever. Aiden Mann – a 25-year-old vet assistant from Nashville, Tennessee decided to adopt the poor little soul, after one of his colleagues who was fostering Plum back then, told him he “didn’t know what he was getting himself into” when adopt her.
“I got Plum July of 2019. She was 6 months old and just the sweetest pup,” Aiden told Bored Panda. “My coworkers work with a lot of rescues and were fostering her and her brother, and I was trying to find homes for them. When she brought Plum to work, I immediately loved her and wanted her.”
Even so, Aiden knew that adopting a special needs dog would require a lot of patience and attention. But he also knew he loves animals from the bottom of his heart and that would matter more than anything. The two became very close to each other since day one and despite the Plum condition, Aiden knew they would shortly became best buddies.
Lately, to show the whole world how deep and special a bond between a dog and its human companion could ever be, Aiden shared an absolutely heartwarming footage of him waking up Plum in the most adorable way. To avoid scaring his beloved pup, Aiden found the perfect way to woke her up, by blowing gently on her nose. Once she awake, all Plum wants is to cuddle with her human.
“Plum was born this way due to double merle breeding,” Aiden said. “The biggest struggle was learning to communicate with her but once we figured that out, everything has been great. She is the sweetest, happiest and most outgoing dog you’ve ever met. Just loves life and is just happy to be involved.”
