Meet Kylo, the rescue dog who can’t stop hugging his adoptive mom for saving his life

Dogs are extremely affectionate creatures. They offer nothing except unconditional love and loyalty to their human companions. However, the way this rescue pup shows his gratitude to the woman that saved his life is so heartwarming.

Kylo was just 10-month-old when he was brought at the West Memphis Animal Shelter. Given his friendly nature and the tenderness he showed to everyone, the volunteers at the shelter were more than sure he would find a forever home very soon. But unfortunately it wasn’t like that. And after a few weeks spent at West Memphis, the cute pup was taken into a foster home. But again, no one seemed to be interested in offering hime a home. That until this woman stepped in.

“We saw his picture on Facebook and reached out,” Meghan Sweers, Kylo’s adoptive mom, told The Dodo. “I think he was always meant to wind up with us, it just took some time for us to find him.”

Because Meghan and her husband were already sharing their home with Nellie – a tiny corgi, they decided to do a trial with Kylo, in order to see how Nellie would react. But the moment Kylo stepped inside his new home, Meghan knew he would remain there forever.

“As soon as they left he crawled into my lap, tucked his head under my chin, and started snoring like a chainsaw,” she said. “From that moment my husband and I knew he was staying with us!”

Nellie also looked more than happy to share the house with another doggie. As about Kylo he looked like he’s lived there since forever. But honestly, it could had been otherwise since he was surrounded by so much love. In return for saving his life, Kylo just didn’t stop hugging Meghan.

Now, a couple of years after getting adopted, Kylo is doing the same. He shows his gratitude every single day, for the love Meghan carries for him. “As soon as I sit down to take off my shoes he climbs into my lap to be held,” his mom said. “If I don’t sit down for our cuddle time he follows me around with the saddest most pathetic look on his face until I give in and hold him.”
