A pit bull named Buddy is hailed as a hero after saving the life of a nine years old boy. According to the Independent is believed the dog saved the children from the Murray River, New South Wales, Australia after his mother ‘was allegedly attempting to drown’ him and his younger brother.
However, despite its heroic act, the dog was about to be put down. During its attempts to save the boy, it is thought he has bitten the kid, causing him injuries. Anyway, in the end the dog technically saved the boy’s life. Fortunately, an online petition saved him. The petition signed by more than 50,000 netizens has allowed Buddy to come back home.
“In this selfish mothers attempt to drown her two boys buddy the dog has reacted and attempted to save the boys in doing so he has bit the eldest boy in his rescue attempts unfortunately he was unable to save the youngest boy and has also bit the mother.
“Buddy doesn’t have a history of being a dangerous dog and most certainly hasn’t ever bitten anyone and has never been seized before for anything. Buddy is a member of our family and has grown up around children his whole life and has been the most gentlest dog, he has clearly seen a child in distress and attempted to help, dogs don’t have hands to help like us humans they have to use their teeth and in doing so it’s being portrayed as this dog has attacked the young boy,” the petition read.
Unfortunately, one of the boys, a five years old kid, has died. Now his mom is facing charges for her terrible actions.
The dog’s owner couldn’t hide her excitement when hearing her beloved pup is getting back home. “I just want to tell everyone that our boy buddy is coming home he has a few things to get into place before he comes home but the main thing is he is coming home,” Jess Smith, Buddy’s owner said.
The boy’s grandfather who had the custody of the kids before their mom to return from jail, declared he is absolutely sure the dog was only trying to help. “I own a similar dog and I know he was trying to save the boys, it’s their nature when they are raised with kids,” he said to The Courier Mail. “Let the ones who his actions affected decide. I have one grandson left because this brave dog took action as required.”
It is in any dog’s nature to protect and take care of our little ones. And if you have any doubts regarding this, just watch the video bellow!
