John Fogerty, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter of Creedence Clear Water Revival rock band, has just sold his Beverly Hills mansion for $18.6 million, after dropping the price from $23 million which he asked for it nine months ago. Proud Mary rocker bought the Summitridge Drive estate for just shy of $3 million back in 2002 and made extensive renovations to it. Originally the estate spanned 13,476 square feet and featured 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms but ten years later he added another 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 2,500 square feet to it.
Sprawled on 3 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the luxury estate is accessed through a gated entrance and a driveway passing through a circular motor court to the 4+ car garage motor court. The nine bedrooms and eleven bathrooms cover 16,000 square feet of living space together with a double-height entrance hall with fireplace, a double-barrel vaulted main hallway, two-story family room with fireplace, formal living and dining rooms – the former with fireplace, the latter with wine room, a library with wood-panelled walls and fireplace, screening room, lounge with wet bar on the second floor and many more.
Outdoor entertaining space features a stunning yard with a covered loggia with fireplace, a swimming pool with mosaic tiles and spa, a large patio, playground, dining and cooking areas. The compound also includes a guest house composed of a bedroom, a bathroom, living room and kitchen. Since 2013 Fogerty has been living on a 9-million-dollar-worth California estate in Thousand Oaks.
