Stranger jumps into cold river to save senior dog from drowning

As a part of their daily routine, Sara Melnicoff get her beloved dog, named Carli, for a morning walk. But unfortunately, the 13-years-old pup was suddenly swept into the enraged waters of Mill Creek river

Taken by surprise, the scared woman did not know what to do. “I saw her [Carli] rush by, unable to do more than keep her head above water,” Sara wrote in a Facebook post. “I was running along the creek, calling her name, when I got to the area that overlooks the Tea Cup.”

The woman knew the only way to get her furry baby out of the water was to jump in. However, it would have been a very risky decision given the strong currents and the low temperatures. But just when she was about to lose her hope, the help came out of nowhere.

“I was going to take my shoes off and go in the water to try to get her, when this young man appeared out of nowhere and stripped down to his boxers. He plunged into the water, making his way along the slippery rocks, while the powerful currents of the water rushed all around him,” the woman wrote.

But despite the unfriendly conditions, the kind-hearted stranger somehow managed to get the scared dog. “He managed to get a hold of Carli down stream some distance,” Sara recalls. Thanks to the brave man, named Bobby L’Heureux, Sara was reunited with her beloved Carli.

“I was very shaken and teary when he brought Carli to me. I asked him his name and gave him a huge hug. I asked him what his favorite charity was so I could donate in his name and he told me he runs a non-profit!,” the woman’s post also reads.
