$88 million penthouse at 15 Central Park West

This luxury penthouse, one of America’s most expensive apartments, was bought for $43.7 million in 2007 by the former head of Citigroup, Sanford Weil, who was reportedly one of the 25 people responsible for the 2008 world financial and economic crisis. In 2001 the Weils decided to move downstairs to the 6th floor and give the apartment to charity! Nevertheless, in 2012 they sold it for $88 million to Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev who bought it for his daughter, Ekaterina.
