Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts debuts in Kerala, India with luxury all in-pool villas property

Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts will make its debut in India in 2013. Located in the backwaters of the southern state of Kerala, Banyan Tree Kerala will feature 59 pool villas with views of the surrounding waterways and canals. Gabled roofs and carved wooden façades define the architecture, while interiors make use of indigenous materials such as coir, a natural fiber extracted from the husk of coconuts, along with ornamental wood carvings, paintings, frescoes, and Kathakali art, which references the traditional and stylized classical Indian dance-drama from the region.

On the private island of Nediyathuruthu in the tropical Backwaters of Alleeppey, the secluded resort will offer 59 villas each with a private swimming pool. The luxury villas were decorated with traditional furnishings and elaborate woodwork.
