The most exclusive penthouse in New York, sprawled over the three floors atop The Pierre Hotel is up for sale with a considerable price cut of $30, the original price being $125 million. The luxury abode, whose previous owner was Martin Zweig, contains 16 grand rooms, of which 5 bedrooms and 6 full and 3 half baths. Zweig’s impressive art collection and furniture is not included in the listing, though.

Purchased in 1938 by J. Paul Getty, The Pierre Hotel was converted into a co-op eleven years later. Forty years later Martin Zweig paid a record-setting price of $21.5 million at the time and after 15 years the property is listed fot $95 million, despite the staggering original price tag of $125 million. Sotheby’s Homes, through its agents Elisabeth Lee Sample and Brenda Powers, is the real estate agency that has listed it.
