All animals need affection. It’s true, but we’re expecting to see dogs or cats looking for some comfort from humans. Not a bit of it from a gray seal. Well, it seems that Mother Nature still has some pleasant surprises for us.
The video bellow proves us that adorable bonds between animals and humans can be found even in the deepest places. The capture, initially uploaded in 2014 on YouTube shows a gray seal begging for a belly rub. And since then, the video went viral with millions of views.
The beautiful scene took place into the waters near Great Britain’s Scilly Isles. It was just a regular day at the office for the diver Gary Grayson when an Atlantic seal approached him.
The diver wasn’t scared by the seal’s unusual behavior because he was just as curious as she was. So into the next moment the cute little creature does something totally unexpected. She slowly came closer and she tried to touch the diver’s nose with her own. But this wasn’t all!
Just like a little baby who’s looking for some affection from his mom, our little underwater friend want some too. So she flipped over and started to beg for a gentle belly rub. Garry response immediately came, because who can restrain from petting such a cute creature!
Asked about this unnatural behavior, Ally McMillan, CEO of Seal Rescue Island told to media: “It really shows how sweet, curious and dog-like seals are.”
The man has seen a lot in his life, from dolphins to sharks, snakes or crocodiles, but he said that he never saw anything like this in his life.
“I have been diving with seals before and had them buzzing around you before but I’ve never had one that stayed so close for that amount of time and was so friendly. It was amazing and something I’ll never forget – I have the video on my phone now and watch it all the time. In fact, I’ve probably bored all my friends going on about it,” Ally McMillan said.
