Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke the royal tradition. Bishop Michael Curry was invited at their wedding. So, in this way, he’s the first US pastor who plays a role at a royal wedding. The Kensington Palace confirmed the information on 12th of May. In the statement is said that Michael Bruce Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church will give the address at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Bishop Curry was born on on March 13, 1953, in Chicago. In his autobiography, the pastor revealed that both of his parents were descended from slaves.
At the St. George’s Chapel, the bishop started his emotional speech by quoting Martin Luther King Jr.
“We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we do that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way. There’s power in love. Don’t underestimate it. Don’t even over-sentimentalise. There is power, power in love,” the father started his speech.

As we said before, both his father and his mother were descended from slaves and sharecroppers in Alabama and North Carolina. However, the father was not discouraged by his past. He studied and fallowed his dream.
Bishop Michael Curry also creates history, as he’s the 27th and current presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church. Back in 2015, when he was elected, he become the first African American bishop of this church.
Now, he become the first American bishop who gives address at the royal wedding. So he broke the tradition. Because, as you probably know addresses are given by clergymen of the Church of England.
Even if he’s a man of God, the bishop is trying to keep up with the modernism. As evidence, he’s quite active on social media.
